Kiltynane Estate – Artisan Wines

This year, the recently acclaimed Mt Rael "3777" restaurant in Victoria's Yarra Valley has paired Christine Ross's slow roasted Black Pig with the Kiltynane Estate 2008 Pinot Noir by the glass - on for the month of June - for details open this link:

Melbourne Food and Wine Festival - Mt Rael and Kiltynane Artisan Wines

The wines are grown using organic and biodynamic farming practices. Go to "the Wines" page for the full story. We look for sites that are blessed with a perfect cool climate environment. This produces a wine which is structure, rich and long - the ultimate food wine, great for those looking for organic or biodynamic wine - low allergy and made naturally.

Produced in minute quantities, the wines can be found on the wine lists of some of Australia's top restaurants and are adored by great chefs and sommeliers.  Email us info@kiltynane.com.au to join our customer mail list.  Order online or find outlets via the Wines Page on the top toolbar.

Kiltynane Estate is now based on the Bellarine Peninsula, continuing our wine making here. The Tarrawarra property has reverted to a private residence so please respect the privacy. Kiltynane Estate wines are available Australia wide and in the UK via Bowes Fine Wines in London.

We've been working with a 12 year old Pinot micro site at Swan Bay on the Bellarine Peninsula since

2008, establishing biodynamic practises on this vineyard that lies only 75m from Ramsar wetlands and the mudflats of Swan Bay overlooking Queenscliff.  Battered by salt winds but complimented by deep chocolate loam over red ironstone pebbled clay, the wine coming off now is incredible.

Also from Panton Hill, east of Melbourne, at the base of a rocky hill, comes a wild fermented Shiraz which we've given extended barrel maturation - should be ready for release later this year -hopefully in time for the Christmas turkey.

Due for  release September 2011 is our new Wild Fermented Rose - only a tiny quantity - this is available online and in select fine restaurants

In the future, we hope to re-establish our much loved "Preliminaire" so don't forget to subscribe to our mail list to stay informed.  We also look forward to special annual Food and Wine get togethers at the site above to celebrate life, love, wine and beautifully presented food by our local amazing chefs ...

In the meantime, our Pinots form the Tarrawarra site continue to shine - the current release 2008 Estate and Pn2 pinots are maturing beautifully with layers and complexity to delight the avid pinotphile.  We continue to hold our pricing to reasonable as part of our philosophy.

March 2011 was the beginning of 2011 vintage. 2011 Pinot Noir vintage is now in barrel - looking fantastic with the MV6 clone looking better than most years and the 115 Dijon clone complimenting it beautifully with some great mid palate breadth and soft tannins.  If you are interested in detail, go to our "Blog" below where we give more detail on several subjects and "goings on".   The 114 has gone into our Wild Fermented Rose due for release September 2011
